The Government wants to fast-track large scale solar projects to speed up the ability to create thousands of megawatts of clean, renewable
energy. The Interior Department has selected 17 sites consisting of 285,000
acres of public land across 6 Southwestern stats as prime land for the
development of solar energy.
Additionally the agency has targeted another 19 million
acres of public lands in California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New
Mexico as possible locations for solar projects. This movement could be key in
building a solid foundation for sustainable energy.
