Hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving with family and friends.  Are you still full?  Well, this blog is sure to whet your appetite for desserts and get you in the Christmas spirit!  It's Christmas Cookie time!  Oh, yes.  We have found some delicious recipes to try out and enjoy!




Almond Crescent Cookies

Cook Time: 15 mins
Total Time: 30 mins 
Servings: 40 approximately cookies

Ingredients:
1 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
pinch salt (if you use unsalted butter add 1/4 teaspoon salt)
3/4 cup finely chopped fresh almonds, walnuts or pecans
2 -2 1/2 cups all purpose flour ** (if you are in Italy substitute all purpose with Manitoba Flour)

Instructions:
Pre-heat oven to 350°  
In a large bowl beat butter until fluffy, add sugar and beat again until fluffy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and add nuts, flour ** (add 2 cups to start and 1 tablespoon at a time (up to 8 tablespoons if needed See Note Above!) ) and salt.  Bring dough together with your fingers.  Break off small pieces and form into a crescent shape.  Place on ungreased cookie sheets and bake for approximately 15 minutes . While cookies are still warm roll in icing/powdered sugar.  Can be frozen.  Enjoy!




Christmas M&M Cake Mix Cookie

Christmas M&M Cake Mix Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:
1 box Chocolate Cake Mix
2 Eggs
1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
1 cup Christmas M&M's Red and Green

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350.
Mix together cake mix, oil and eggs.
Fold in M&M's.
Form about 1" balls of cookie dough and place onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 9 minutes.

Allow to cool on cookie sheet.
Enjoy!




Chewy Gingersnaps

Chewy Gingersnaps

Ingredients
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, at room temperature
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1 egg
2 1/4 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cloves
Granulated sugar

Instructions:
Cream (mix) together butter and brown sugar. Mix in molasses and egg till well combined.
Stir in flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon and cloves.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill for at least an hour (I usually chill overnight).
Preheat the oven to 375ยบ.
Scoop out dough with a medium-sized cookie disher (about 1½ tablespoons of dough). Roll dough balls in sugar and place on parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 12 minutes.
